The state of Massachusetts is located in the northeast section of the United States. Compared to other states, Massachusetts is small and the weather is similar in most places. But the state also has higher elevations which can make some places a lot cooler and snowier than others. The one common theme in Massachusetts seems to be its cool and snowy winters. The summers can get a bit warmer in the low-lying areas such as the city of Boston but some places to the west of the state will see mild summers.
